Our Founder: Dr Lucy Sweatman
Dr Lucy Sweatman, BA (KCL), MPhil (Cantab), PhD (Durham) was educated at The Perse School for Girls and The Leys School, Cambridge where she was an academic scholar and won the Harvard Prize for leadership potential.
She went on to read Theology at King’s College London, where she won the Bishop Collins Memorial prize and the Sellars Prize for securing the highest first class honours in Theology, before studying Medieval Latin Palaeography at the University of California.
Following a MPhil in Early Modern History at the University of Cambridge (Clare College), she wrote her doctoral thesis on national days of prayer in England between 1640 and 1660 as part of an AHRC funded project at Durham University.
Lucy has 15 years’ experiencing of guiding hundreds of students to top universities in the UK and around the world. She began her career at CATS College Cambridge (CEG), where she sent her first UCAS application for an international student in 2006, before moving to MPW Cambridge where she became Director of Studies and then Assistant Principal. Lucy then worked at Abbey College Cambridge as Vice Principal Academic, taking the school to 7th in the UK for A Level results in 2019 and sending more than 15 students to Oxford and Cambridge.
Lucy founded Cantab Education in 2020, with an extensive network of university admissions tutors, lecturers, teachers, alumni, and agents, her knowledge is extensive and constantly updated.
Lucy has written three books; two on helping students secure places at Oxford and Cambridge, with a third on the way!
Lucy enjoys reading, ballet, attending lectures and visiting museums and art galleries.
